It is widely reported that the average time you have to make an impression on a visitor to your site is around 8 seconds! What they are looking for is who are you, what do you do and what makes you better than the competition. To do this they will scan you website, not read it! That is, of course, unless you give them what is known as a 'call to action' that means a click here button or a search bar - something to encourage them to interact with the website.
